Steak and Ice Cream

Steak and Ice Cream sounds like a bizarre combination, unless, you have seen the Movie “Polyanna”. It’s the story of an orpahed girl who goes to live with her very wealthy Aunt. Polyanna realizes her new found wealth and on their first night dining together she suggests eating Steak and Ice Cream “Three times, Every Day!”. That being a bit much for anyone’s palate or pocketbook, steak is generally reserved for special occasions. Father’s Day was an excellent excuse to splurge on excellent Steaks, and savor Ice Cream afterwards.

Concerning Steak, there is such a variety of brilliant cuts from which to choose. I chose perfectly cut, thick Ribeyes and served them with a variety of Steak Toppers. I like variety, and because everyone appreciates different additions or omissions, there was something for nearly everyone to get excited about, as if the grilled steak wasn’t enough.

Served along side the steak were:
Blue Cheese Wedges
Sautéed Onions
Sautéed Mushrooms
Shrimp Skewers
Herbed Butter (my personal favorite)

Served along the Steak were Baked Potatoes, with… More Choices. Pretty basic assortment of Bacon, Cheese, Butter and Sour Cream, but what else would you need?

The Ice cream was served with the most simple edible dish, Salted Caramel and Cashews. Simple and Delicious.
